Environmental initiatives

Reducing what we consume,
at the source.

We work together with our factory by using better environmental processes, reducing energy usage and avoiding waste.

01

Energy

90% of our yearly electricity consumption comes from our solar panels. A water recovery system has also been installed in our building.

02

Building

A complete relighting and engineering of our building — LED lighting, shades to reduce heat, insulation — significantly reduced our energy consumption.

03

Freight

We favor as much as possible sea shipment over air shipment, with a stated goal of 93% of our imports shipped by sea.

04

Products & packaging

Long-lasting products carry a much better CO₂ footprint over their lifecycle. We use FSC paper only, and are moving packaging from plastic and metal to 100% recyclable wood & paper.

Our future targets

Carbon neutral by 2027.

01
Bioplastic packaging
We want to replace all plastic packaging with bioplastic.
02
Ecological materials
We are constantly looking for new ecological materials in order to integrate them in all our products.
03
A CO₂ footprint per product
We want to establish a clear CO₂ footprint for each product, so we can identify polluting items and offer carbon compensation solutions.
04
Carbon neutrality
Our main goal is to become a carbon neutral company by 2027.
Our commitments

A central role, and the commitments that come with it.

Plastoria is committed to conducting its business affairs in a socially responsible and ethical manner, consistent with all applicable national and local legal requirements, customs and published industry standards pertaining to employment and manufacturing.

We also believe that we at Plastoria, as a corporation, are playing a central role — as all businesses do — in improving the economic, environmental and social conditions of the world. We hereby take the following commitment to our business, to try to improve the world we live in.

Our charter

How we conduct ourselves.

Our responsibilities as a business

The value of a business to society is the wealth and employment it creates, and the marketable products and services it provides to consumers at a reasonable price commensurate with quality. In order to create such value, a business must maintain its own economic health and viability.

Our business behaviour

While accepting the legitimacy of trade secrets, Plastoria recognizes that sincerity, candor, truthfulness, the keeping of promises and transparency contribute not only to our own credibility and stability, but also to the smoothness and efficiency of our business.

The respect of rules

In order to avoid trade frictions and to promote free trade, equal conditions for competition and fair and equitable treatment for all participants, Plastoria respects international and domestic rules. In addition, Plastoria recognizes that some behavior, although legal, may still have adverse consequences, and takes the commitment to avoid getting involved in such behavior.

The respect of the environment

Plastoria does its uttermost to protect and, where possible, improve the environment, promote sustainable development and prevent the wasteful use of natural resources.

The avoidance of illicit operations

Plastoria does not participate in or condone bribery, money laundering or other corrupt practices. Indeed, Plastoria seeks cooperation with others in order to eliminate those practices.

Treatment of our customers

At Plastoria, we are willing to treat all customers with dignity, irrespective of whether they purchase our products and services directly from us, or from any of our distributors or their clients.

Treatment of our employees

At Plastoria, we believe in the dignity of every employee and in taking employee interests seriously.

Treatment of our suppliers

Our relationship with suppliers and subcontractors must be based on mutual respect. We therefore have a responsibility to seek fairness and truthfulness in all our activities, including pricing, licensing and rights to sell.

Treatment of our competitors

At Plastoria, we believe that fair economic competition is one of the basic requirements for increasing the wealth of nations, and ultimately for making possible the right distribution of goods and services. We therefore have a responsibility to promote competitive behavior that is socially and environmentally beneficial, and demonstrates mutual respect among competitors.

Corporate Social & Environmental Responsibilities can and should govern every aspect of our business life. We recognize that the rewards, both for Plastoria and for society at large, are important.
